Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Myron Nelson (ranked 7154 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krakers Smudak (ranked 5773 p4p, 0 weight class). Myron Nelson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Myron Nelson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Krakers Smudak! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Smudak. Smudak tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Smudak has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Nelson is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Nelson tries to bench press Smudak off him but Smudak keeps the position. Smudak is looking to take a break and control but Nelson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Smudak works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Smudak wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nelson, who protects the arm well. Nelson gets back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smudak looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Smudak working over Nelson with some ground and pound. Nelson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Nelson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Smudak scores with a couple of nice shots. Smudak is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Nelson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smudak. Nelson misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Nelson is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Smudak jumps into side control! Nelson is trying to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smudak landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Smudak is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Nelson looks calm but he's in trouble here. Smudak gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Nelson is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Smudak lets go of the hold and Nelson can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Krakers Smudak!
