Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ludvick Wienshtein (ranked 4543 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maggot Soup (ranked 3380 p4p, 0 weight class). Maggot Soup has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ludvick Wienshtein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Maggot Soup!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wienshtein jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Wienshtein misses with a wild combination.
Soup dives in and grabs Wienshtein's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wienshtein pushes down on Soup's head and hops out.
No luck for Soup with that takedown attempt.

Soup closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Wienshtein slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Soup trying to control but Wienshtein is working from the bottom.

Soup drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Wienshtein dives on top into guard.

Soup wants to sweep but no luck.
Wienshtein makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Soup has a closed guard, preventing Wienshtein from standing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Soup is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Soup has his foot on Wienshtein's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wienshtein works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wienshtein working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Soup has an active guard here but Wienshtein has managed to pass into half guard.

Wienshtein is working for a kimura but Soup is defending it quite comfortably.
Soup is looking to control Wienshtein's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Soup avoid being mounted?

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Wienshtein content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Soup keeping hold of Wienshtein's head, controlling as best he can.
Wienshtein lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Soup keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Wienshtein tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Soup.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Soup is defending against the submission attempts here by Wienshtein.
Wienshtein is keen to just control but Soup is a slippery customer.
Wienshtein stalling away here and it's allowed Soup to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Wienshtein being controlled here momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Wienshtein in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Soup closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Soup lands in his opponent's guard.
Soup trying to control the position from guard on top but Wienshtein is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wienshtein is looking to stand up but Soup isn't so interested in that idea.
Wienshtein is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ludvick Wienshtein dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Soup shoots in for a double leg but Wienshtein sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Soup tries to keep at a distance but Wienshtein has taken the fight into the clinch.
Wienshtein prevents a takedown attempt there.
Soup is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Soup's coach down at Island Sparring was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Soup's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Ludvick Wienshtein has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maggot Soup.

Wienshtein breaks the clinch.
Soup throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wienshtein's waist but Wienshtein gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Soup off to one side.
Soup has a takedown stuffed.

Wienshtein drops Soup with a beautiful combination! Soup stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Wienshtein is looking for the KO!


It looks like Maggot Soup has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wienshtein misses with a few strikes there.
Wienshtein moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.


Soup is rocked!
Soup is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wienshtein sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Wienshtein wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Soup is still on wobbly legs! Can Wienshtein finish him?

Soup darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Soup seems to have recovered his senses.
Wienshtein is looking to improve his position.
Ludvick Wienshtein overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Soup seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Wienshtein is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Maggot Soup!
