Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jeff Mysterio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Archie Clay! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Winston Howard and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clay steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mysterio. Mysterio throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Mysterio bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Clay's head backwards. Clay shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Clay was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Clay controlling the position from side mount. Mysterio tries to escape but Clay is in control. Clay works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Clay grinds an elbow into Mysterio's temple. Check out the look on Clay's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Clay controls the position. Mysterio is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Clay is putting a hurting on Mysterio here, landing some big shots from side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mysterio is being controlled here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clay scores with punches from side control. Clay has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Mysterio! Mysterio is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Clay sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Mysterio is wriggling around trying to escape.
Mysterio is bucking up trying to escape but Clay cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Clay sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Clay moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mysterio has worked his arm free - good work by Mysterio!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Clay is trying to get an arm triangle but Mysterio is defending well. Mysterio tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. You get the feeling that Mysterio really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Clay is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mysterio to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mysterio shrugs it off. Clay landing strikes from the mount. A nice elbow there by Clay. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mysterio is bucking up trying to escape but Clay cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Clay has control of Mysterio's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mysterio regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Nope, Mysterio has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Clay has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Clay with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Mysterio is rocked! Clay is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Clay extends the arm and Mysterio is forced to tap!
