Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Konstantin Stepanov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sting Fire!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Anthony Taglia and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fire ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A little jabbing left from Fire on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Stepanov swings widly with a right hand
and Fire counters with a nice uppercut.
Fire steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Stepanov.
Fire throws a counter combo.
Fire moves out of range of the strikes.
Fire only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Stepanov cracks Fire with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stepanov misses with a straight right.
Fire uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stepanov.
Fire looks like he wants to counter punch here.

and Fire counters with a lovely straight right hand!


It looks like Konstantin Stepanov has been cut.

Stepanov swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Stepanov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fire is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Fire struggling a bit here.
Stepanov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Fire down.
Stepanov scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Fire to see if he's OK.
Fire tries to get back to half guard but can't.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fire can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fire is looking for a sweep.

Fire takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fire wants to control but Stepanov postures up.

Stepanov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Stepanov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fire takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Fire is still in real trouble! Can Stepanov finish him?
Stepanov lands a big elbow and you can see that really hurt Fire! Stepanov senses the opportunity and scores with more strikes - he's put Fire out! The ref tackles him out of the way to prevent him landing more strikes - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Konstantin Stepanov!
Konstantin Stepanov spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
