Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Guillermo Pato (ranked 117 p4p, 18 weight class) and Rodney Alcala (ranked 662 p4p, 91 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pato throws a hook to the side of Alcala's head but Alcala sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Pato rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Alcala counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Alcala ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pato moves away.
Alcala works Pato's body with a nice hook.
Alcala throws a head kick but Pato moves out of range.
Alcala walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

and Alcala counters with a two punch combo.
Pato looks to score with a jab to the body but Alcala is just out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pato tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alcala swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Pato throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Alcala sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Alcala is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fight stays on the outside here - Pato looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Guillermo Pato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alcala throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pato stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pato. Alcala does a little dance to reset his feet.

Pato moves in looking to clinch but Alcala pushes him off.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Alcala jumps guard but Pato turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

As Pato backs off Alcala throws a huge counter combo but Pato manages to avoid it all.

Pato lands a big right hand that sends Alcala crashing to the mat! Pato stays standing though and waves Alcala back to his feet!
