Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bea Mason (ranked 5048 p4p, 505 weight class) and Brandon Stark (ranked 2187 p4p, 287 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bea Mason! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 28 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Stark! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mason tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stark swivels and escapes. No luck for Mason with that takedown attempt. Stark misses with a head kick.
Mason tries to counter by clinching up but Stark breaks away and moves out of range. Mason slips a straight right by Stark. Some bone on bone action there as Mason checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Stark lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Stark looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Mason looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Stark avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Stark does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Mason gets the takedown into side control. Stark sneaks back into half guard. Stark is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Stark is looking for a sweep. Mason is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Stark works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mason wanted to stand there but Stark had control of the position. Mason wants to control from the top but Stark keeps moving. Stark working for a triangle but Mason defends it easily.
Stark has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mason can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Mason wants to pass the guard but Stark is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mason stays in close to Stark's body and controls the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mason trying to control but Stark is working from the bottom. Stark preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mason loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Stark looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Mason puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Stark is looking for a sweep. Mason is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Stark avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mason.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stark looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Mason is looking for a kimura here.
Stark has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mason is working away from the top position though. Stark tries to roll over but Mason keeps him under control. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Stark is pressing down on Mason's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Mason has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Mason wants to stand but Stark is controlling his posture from full guard. Mason trying to control but Stark is working from the bottom. Stark looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mason is one step ahead there.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Stark feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Masons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Stark defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mason. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bea Mason. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stark throws a push kick but Mason slaps the foot to one side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brandon Stark dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Mason lands a slapping body shot.
Mason shoots in for a takedown but Stark shows good takedown defense. Stark pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Stark goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Mason thuds his shin into the meat of Stark's side. Stark looks to land a right hand but Mason moved out of range. Stark misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Stark stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stark wants it to stay on the feet. A solid body kick from Stark. Mason checks a low kick from Stark. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mason shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stark as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bea Mason. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mason will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Stark throws a leg kick but Mason sees it coming and moves out of range. Horrible takedown attempt by Mason or perhaps it was just good defense by Stark, which made it look bad. Stark changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mason tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stark swivels and escapes. Stark misses with a head kick.
Stark has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Mason tries to clinch up but Stark circles away and keeps his distance. Stark goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Mason fails with a takedown attempt. Mason throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Stark pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Mason back to the cage. Stark follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Stark looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Mason takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Mason is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Stark looks to score with a jab to the body but Mason is just out of range. Mason misses with a double jab.
Stark stuffs the takedown. Brandon Stark is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Stark with a hook. Mason moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mason blocks the body kick.
Brandon Stark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stark cracks the inside of Mason's front leg. Mason avoids the head kick by Stark.
Mason takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Stark misses with a body kick. Stark takes a swing at Mason's ribcage but misses. Mason slips under a jab. Mason closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Stark quickly recovers to half guard. Stark is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Stark is staying active underneath Mason, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Mason tries to pass the half guard into mount. Stark knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Stark on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mason is keen to just control but Stark is a slippery customer. Stark is pressing down on Mason's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Stark managing to control the position. Stark looking for a sweep. Not yet Stark, not yet. Stark had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mason defends it easily. Mason missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Stark is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mason is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Stark seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Mason won't allow Stark to pass to mount. Stark content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Mason is looking to control Stark's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mason avoid being mounted? Mason is trying to get back to full guard. Stark lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brandon Stark showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Mason shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Mason trying to control the position from guard on top but Stark is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stark pulls Mason in close to prevent any damage. Stark wants to sweep here but Mason controlling him for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stark is pulling down on Mason's head. It's preventing any offense from Mason, at least for the moment. Mason tries to free his leg and advance position but Stark is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stark seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Mason is sitting in close to Stark's body. Stark has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Mason is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Mason is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Stark.
