Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Black Mamba!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mamba lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Smith takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
A nice inside leg kick there by Mamba. That's going to slow Smith down.
Smith dives in for a single leg takedown but Mamba sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Smith takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mamba tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mamba to the ground. Mamba escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A slapping body kick lands there for Mamba.
Mamba scores with a jab. Smith acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Mamba fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Mamba throws a series of punches but Smith avoids them all with ease.
Mamba keeps the fight on the outside.
Mamba looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Smith takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Black Mamba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A lazy left from Mamba finds it's target.
Mamba misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Smith is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Mamba.
Smith walks into a jab.
Mamba has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

and Mamba counters with a right hand to the body.

Mamba is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Mamba won't allow Smith to get back to his feet.

Smith wants to sweep here but Mamba controlling him for the moment.
Mamba slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Smith working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mamba doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mamba manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Smith has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Mamba lands with a hook. Smith tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Mamba connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Mamba throws a shot to the body.
Mamba lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Smith backs up against the cage.
A jab lands there for Mamba.
Smith is looking to chop away at Mamba's legs.
Mamba has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Smith throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Mamba lands a right hook to the body.
Mamba is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smith goes for a double leg but Mamba avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mamba continues to drive forward.
Smith shoots for a double leg takedown but Mamba sprawls well. He's pushed Smith's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mamba swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Mamba has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Smith is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Smith with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Mamba to score with a decent uppercut.

Mamba lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

No luck for Smith with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mamba lands a body shot.
Mamba connects with a crisp jab.
Smith drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Black Mamba is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mamba turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Mamba lands a big head kick that sends Smith tumbling to the mat! Mamba takes a step backwards and waves Smith back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Smith is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mamba scores with a leg kick.
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Crunch! Mamba slams his shin into Smith's torso.
BOOM! Mamba lands a beautiful left hook that drops Smith. Smith tries to recover but Mamba is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Smith lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
