PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between JohnAmund Skaar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Bull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skaar comes to the cage accompanied by Number of the Beast. Bull is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Last Shadow Puppets "The Age Of The Understatement". Terry Bull will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Terry Bull!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Skaar feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Skaar working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Skaar wants to control from the top but Bull keeps moving.
Bull wants to stand up but Skaar is controlling him.
Skaar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bull on the ground.
Skaar is looking to work some ground and pound but Bull has wrist control.
Skaar lands a couple of elbows.
Bull is looking to stand up but Skaar isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bull has his feet on Skaar's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Bull sizes up Skaar with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Skaar fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bull is trying to maintain a safe position but Skaar gets an underhook and turns Bull into the cage.

Skaar tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Skaar tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Bull's elbow.
A right hook to the body lands for Bull.
Skaar jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bull walks away with a smile on his face. Skaar gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Skaar displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bull throws out the jab.

Skaar content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Skaar wants to control from the top but Bull keeps moving.
Skaar won't allow Bull to get back to his feet.

Skaar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Bull has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Skaar off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Skaar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bull's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Skaar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bull as he avoids it easily.
Bull throws a head kick that misses.
A slow jab from Bull misses its intended target.
Bull throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A right-left combo lands from Bull.
Bull with a hook.
Bull dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Skaar. That did some damage!
Skaar walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Bull lands with a shot to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bull smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Skaar needs to keep his hands up - Bull had a free shot at his head there.
Bull paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Bull might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Bull scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bull thuds his right hand into Skaar's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Terry Bull seems to be getting the better of the standup.
A nice inside leg kick there by Bull. That's going to slow Skaar down.

A head kick lands from Bull that sends Skaar to the canvas. Skaar tries to scramble back to his feet but Bull brings him back down into side control.


Skaar is rocked!

Oh Skaar is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bull wants to control but Skaar is keeping him busy.
Skaar seems to have got his legs back now.
Bull is working Skaar over with some ground and pound from side control.

Bull stands up.
No joy there for Bull, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Bull. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Bull wants to clinch up but Skaar keeps it at a distance.
Skaar tries to clinch but Bull moves out of range.
Bull throws a leg kick which misses Skaar's front leg but catches the back leg as Skaar tries to avoid it.
Bull will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Bull bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Skaar darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Skaar looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Skaar throwing shots but Bull is blocking nicely.
Skaar prevents Bull from standing back up.
Skaar blocks the strikes from Bull.
Bull works his way to full guard. Good work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Skaar shoots for a double leg takedown but Bull sprawls well. He's pushed Skaar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Skaar shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bull as he jumps to the side.
Bull moves into range and connects with a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The is referee keeping an eye on Bull - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Bull lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
JohnAmund Skaar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bull scores with a one two! Skaar had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Terry Bull comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Bull winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
