Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Matsuda Taro (ranked 1644 p4p, 106 weight class) and Tom Thomas (ranked 1272 p4p, 83 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matsuda Taro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taro takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Thomas moves in looking to clinch but Taro pushes him off.
Taro is looking to counter punch.
Thomas comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A chopping leg kick lands by Thomas.
Thomas throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Taro is looking to counter punch.
Thomas swings widly with a right hand
and Taro counters with a nice uppercut.
Thomas misses with a straight right.
Taro appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Thomas gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A cross from Thomas lands.
Taro uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Thomas.
Thomas works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Thomas scores with the left hand. Taro knows he should have avoided that one.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Taro lands with a hook. Thomas tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Thomas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Taro.
We've been told by Taro's head coaches at Crassus that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Tom Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Taro stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Thomas.
Thomas throws a lazy right hand but Taro sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Taro catches Thomas with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Thomas throws out a loose jab but Taro uses good head movement to avoid it.
Thomas lands with a straight right. Taro didn't see that one coming.
Thomas misses the body punch
enabling Taro to counter with a crisp jab.


Thomas is rocked!

Taro cracks Thomas with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Taro has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Thomas to stand back up!
Thomas is still on wobbly legs! Can Taro finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Thomas slips under a jab.
BAM! Taro delivers a spinning backfist that drops Thomas like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). Matsuda Taro!
In his post fight interview, Matsuda Taro started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
