Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Rackham (ranked 3434 p4p, 391 weight class) and Kamaru Usman (ranked 4169 p4p, 456 weight class). Rackham's entrance music is Promises- The Cranberries . A fine choice. Jack Rackham has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rackham digs a good body shot into Usman's ribs.
Rackham lunges at Usman with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Usman's hand.
Usman buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Rackham enables Usman to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rackham manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Usman wants to control from the top but Rackham keeps moving.

Rackham looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Usman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rackham swivels and escapes.

Usman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rackham looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Rackham is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Usman has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Usman wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rackham, who protects the arm well.
Usman advances nicely into full mount.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Rackham takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Usman lands a big shot there that rocks Rackham but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Usman lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kamaru Usman dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Usman closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rackham quickly recovers to half guard.
