PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jargon Gin (ranked 854 p4p, 96 weight class) and Tusing Pocc (ranked 1631 p4p, 180 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jargon Gin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Tusing Pocc!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pocc gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Gin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Pocc thinking.
Pocc rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Gin counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Pocc has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Gin clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Gin trying to get back to his feet but Pocc is in full control for now.
Pocc lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Pocc has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
A lull in the action here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gin is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Gin wants to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pocc has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Gin.

Pocc is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Gin has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Pocc throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
Pocc looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Pocc tries to keep control of the position but Gin is staying busy.

Gin is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it.
Pocc has his takedown stuffed
letting Gin counter with a right hand.
Pocc shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gin as he avoids it easily.
Pocc has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Jargon Gin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tusing Pocc.
Gin goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gin misses with a few strikes there.
And Pocc tries to counter it with a takedown but Gin pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Pocc misses with a takedown attempt - Gin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jargon Gin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pocc fails with the takedown.
Pocc avoids the body shot from Gin.
Pocc throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gin's waist but Gin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pocc off to one side.
A little feinted left hand from Gin on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Gin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Pocc counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Pocc.
Gin struggles to land a body shot inside as Pocc controls his hands.
Pocc is trying to drag Gin to the mat but Gin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
A short body shot lands from Gin as the two fighters clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jargon Gin will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Gin misses with a series of wild punches.
Pocc steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Gin.
Pocc tries for a takedown but Gin circles away easily
and Gin counters with a one-two to the body.
Pocc fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Gin lands a nice hook to Pocc's body. Pocc takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pocc.
Jargon Gin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tusing Pocc.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gin lands a high kick!

Pocc is rocked!
Pocc shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gin as he jumps to the side.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gin cracks Pocc with a right hand to the side of the head.
Pocc is still on wobbly legs! Can Gin finish him?
Pocc gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Gin points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Pocc wakes up just in time to hear Gin thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
