Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between James Dean (ranked 4470 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Braxton (ranked 4570 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bill Braxton! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Braxton connects with a crisp jab. Braxton moves into the clinch. Braxton tries to land knees in the clinch but Dean avoids the damage to the body. Braxton trying to land knees to the body.
Dean struggles to land a body shot inside as Braxton controls his hands.
The referee calls for Braxton to work.
Braxton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Braxton closes the distance and clinches. A hook to the body from Braxton.
Dean blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Braxton manages to break the clinch.
Braxton rushes Dean and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Dean successfully pulls guard.

Dean can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Braxton controls the pace. Braxton's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dean won't allow Braxton to pass to mount. Braxton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dean. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Braxton controlling the action here. Dean tries to get to full guard but Braxton has control of the leg. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A jab from Braxton does it's job there. Braxton uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Dean decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Braxton is trying to get back to full guard. Dean looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Braxton controlling the position well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Braxton is in trouble now - Dean has advanced to mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Braxton jabs Dean right on the nose. Dean blinks but takes it well. Braxton moves into the clinch. Dean really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Dean pulls guard successfully.

Dean is looking to take a break and control but Braxton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Braxton moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Braxton is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dean accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Braxton looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dean is one step ahead there. Braxton has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Dean wants to control from the top but Braxton keeps moving. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Braxton is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Dean decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Braxton pushes Dean off but Dean dives into side control.
