Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Somsak Nantachai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Duncan Clarke! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clarke throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A swing and a miss from Nantachai. Clarke is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Clarke throws a body punch but Nantachai moves out of range. Nantachai looks to clinch enabling Clarke to counter with a crisp jab. Nantachai shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Clarke as he jumps to the side. Clarke darts in and clinches Nantachai up against the cage. I was talking to Nantachai's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. A short right from Clarke. Clarke looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Clarke cracks Nantachai with a nice body shot. Clarke tries to throw a body punch but Nantachai avoids it by throwing Clarke back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clarke takes an elbow to the temple.
It looks like Duncan Clarke has been cut. Clarke blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Clarke lands with a short shot to the head. Nantachai lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Clarke blocks the elbow strike.
Nantachai lands a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice right hand lands inside from Nantachai. Nantachai tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Nantachai misses with an elbow strike.
Clarke lands a nice uppercut. Nantachai tries to work over Clarke's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Clarke tries a body shot but Nantachai blocks it.
Nantachai prevents a body shot from Clarke. Clarke tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Clarke working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Nantachai pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Nantachai breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nantachai tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Clarke paws at him with a jab and circles away. Nantachai is looking to clinch. Nantachai wants to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Nantachai. Clarke rushes Nantachai and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Nantachai lands a nice elbow. Clarke misses with a hook to the ribs.
Clarke lands with a left to the head. Clarke swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Clarke blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. A short right hand to the side of the head by Clarke. Clarke blocking some punches.

Nantachai misses with an elbow over the top. Nantachai manages to break the clinch.
Nice straight punches there by Clarke. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Clarke. Nantachai lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Clarke lands a glancing blow to the side of Nantachai's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clarke circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nantachai looks to score with a jab to the body but Clarke is just out of range. Nantachai wants to clinch up but Clarke keeps it at a distance. A nice side step and Clarke releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Nantachai tries to close the distance and clinch up but Clarke swats him away and circles back towards the center. Clarke avoids the head kick by Nantachai.
Clarke wants to clinch up but Nantachai keeps it at a distance. Nantachai has closed the distance and engaged Clarke in a clinch.
Nantachai throws an elbow but it misses.
Clarke keeps control of Nantachai as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Clarke avoiding damage as Nantachai throws knees to the body.
Still in the clinch, Clarke scores with a nice short uppercut. Clarke avoids the elbow strike from Nantachai, against the cage.
Clarke throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Nantachais head. Clarke lands with a light punch inside. Nantachai keeps control of Clarke as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nantachai lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Clarke works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Clarke trying to stall but Nantachai improves his position.
Nantachai breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Clarke on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Clarke is rocked! Nantachai goes for a small jab and connects. Now Nantachai goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Clarke stumbles back but Nantachai runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Clarke to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Clarke will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
