Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Phil Baloni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Justin Quinn!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quinn tries to work over Baloni's front leg with a kick but Baloni checks it.
Baloni will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Quinn jabs at Baloni's body.
Baloni connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Baloni scores with a hook to the body. Quinn takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Quinn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Baloni moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Baloni clinches with his opponent.
Baloni lands a left hand.
A short left from Baloni.
A short right from Baloni.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Baloni working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Nice body punch from Baloni.
Baloni pushes Quinn back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Baloni lands a left hand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Baloni escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Baloni lands a nice hook to Quinn's body. Quinn takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Quinn looks winded!
Quinn dodges the punch combination from Baloni.
Baloni cracks Quinn with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Quinn looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Baloni finish him?
It looks like Justin Quinn has been cut.
Baloni seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Baloni fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Quinn to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Quinn looks to clinch but Baloni throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Quinn taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Phil Baloni!
Phil Baloni gave a mention to Condemned in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
