Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Lane!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Emilio Fernandez!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lane tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Fernandez defends well and Lane ends up having to push Fernandez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Lane stalks Fernandez and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Fernandez's face. Fernandez staggers backwards, shaken.
Lane looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Lane gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Lane turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Fernandez throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lane looks to land a combination but Fernandez avoids it well.
Lane lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fernandez circles away quickly and effectively.
Lane changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fernandez tries to avoid it but Lane manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fernandez to the ground. Fernandez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fernandez is looking for the big counter here.
Fernandez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lane pinned against the cage. Lane gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Lane shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lane was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Fernandez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lane. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lane is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fernandez has escaped the position, nice work there.

Fernandez is working to avoid the ground and pound but Lane connects with a decent elbow.

Lane has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lane has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Fernandez is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Lane yanks on the arm and Fernandez is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Lane.
