The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams fails in his attempt to clinch.

Thirdleg can't get the takedown.

Williams manages to break the clinch.

Thirdleg fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Williams sprawls well initially but Thirdleg persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Williams wants to get back to his feet.
Thirdleg is taking a breather. Williams says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Thirdleg looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Thirdleg is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Williams sees it coming and defends easily.

Williams wants to improve his position but Thirdleg is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thirdleg is working for a kimura here but Williams manages to reverse the position and he's now in Thirdleg's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Thirdleg escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Williams gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Williams wants to control from the top but Thirdleg keeps moving.
Williams knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thirdleg on the ground.

Thirdleg working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Williams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Williams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Williams darts in and clinches Thirdleg up against the cage.
Williams has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Thirdleg is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Williams obliges.
Williams tries for a takedown but Thirdleg manages to get underhooks.

Thirdleg drops back, looking for a kneebar! Williams looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Williams looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Williams!

Williams shoots in but Thirdleg avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Williams closes the distance and clinches up with Thirdleg, looking for a takedown. Williams pushes Thirdleg against the cage but Thirdleg circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Thirdleg shoots in looking for a takedown but Williams manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Thirdleg's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
