Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Monday Blues! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jrayden Johnson! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blues works Johnson's body with a nice hook. Blues stuffs the takedown. Johnson misses with a takedown attempt and Blues counters with a good low kick that Johnson was not able to check. Johnson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Blues appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Monday Blues has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jrayden Johnson. Blues lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Blues counters with a leg kick. Blues lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Johnson with a lazy takedown attempt and Blues counters with a lovely shot to the body. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Blues, right into the meat.
Blues looks to land a combination. Johnson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Blues has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Johnson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Blues cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Johnson is rocked! Johnson looks winded! Blues lands with a shot to the body. Blues thuds a left hand into Johnson's body. Blues scores with a sloppy right hand. Johnson should have avoided that one. Blues scores with a hook. Johnson is still on wobbly legs! Can Blues finish him? Blues scoring well with a low kick there.
Johnson seems to have recovered his senses. Blues comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Johnson shoots in but no luck this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. An inside leg kick lands from Blues. Blues stuns Johnson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Johnson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nice body punch from Blues. A jab from Blues does it's job there. Blues scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Johnson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Blues counters with a nice body kick.
Blues lands with a shot to the body. Blues thumps Johnson with a low kick. Blues fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Johnson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A cross from Blues lands. Blues lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Danga de danga de dang - Blues scores with a four punch combination! Blues lands a nice shot to the body.
Blues connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Blues cracks Johnson with an open hand slap. Blues is looking to wear down Johnson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Blues stuffs the takedown. Blues walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Johnson drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Blues swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Johnson's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Monday Blues! A very excited looking Monday Blues made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
