Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Just Whymer (ranked 329 p4p, 46 weight class) and Jab Brown (ranked 539 p4p, 75 weight class). Brown has chosen Lützenkirchen - German Kiss as his entrance music. Just Whymer could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jab Brown's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Just Whymer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Jab Brown!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
An attempted straight right counter from Whymer misses the target.
A left lands for Whymer.
Brown displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Whymer throws out the jab.

We've been told by Whymer's head coaches at Ryōzanpaku Dojo that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Whymer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Brown creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Whymer sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Brown thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Whymer tries to bench press Brown off him but Brown keeps the position.

Brown is trying to get an arm triangle but Whymer is defending well.

Brown is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Whymer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Brown swings around for an armbar but Whymer sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Brown's guard.

Brown has his foot on Whymer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Whymer works his way back into a safe position though.

That was a close round but I would say that Just Whymer will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Whymer lands a big uppercut and Brown crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Brown looks OK. Whymer waves Brown back to his feet!


It looks like Jab Brown has been cut.

Whymer feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Brown sprawling to the canvas! Brown rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Whymer finish him?!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Whymer lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Brown has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Brown and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Brown is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Whymer is just riding it out for now. Brown eventually gives up the hold.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Whymer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
