Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brutalis Rhino (ranked 1577 p4p, 210 weight class) and Carey Mahoney (ranked 1580 p4p, 211 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brutalis Rhino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carey Mahoney!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mahoney connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Rhino shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Rhino looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mahoney wants to improve his position but Rhino is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rhino is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mahoney is just riding it out for now. Rhino eventually gives up the hold.
Mahoney is looking to improve his position.

Rhino missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Rhino is looking for a kimura but Mahoney is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rhino to get the leverage.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Rhino throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Rhino trying to mount his opponent but Mahoney defends it.

Rhino is working for a submission of some sort.
Mahoney is refusing to be controlled, as Rhino sits in half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rhino wants to work for an arm triangle but Mahoney is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mahoney is holding on to half guard well.
Mahoney wants to control but Rhino is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Rhino is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mahoney has managed to free his arm - good work.
Rhino is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Rhino stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mahoney swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rhino is looking to work some ground and pound but Mahoney has wrist control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Rhino trying to control but Mahoney is working from the bottom.
Rhino won't allow Mahoney to sweep him here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mahoney fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mahoney tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rhino lands with an overhand left.
Rhino throws a head kick but Mahoney moves out of range.
Rhino looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Rhino really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mahoney misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mahoney works the jab nicely.
Mahoney tries to close the distance and clinch but Rhino swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Rhino shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Mahoney wants to improve his position but Rhino is controlling well.

Mahoney is trying is best to control the position here.

Rhino is trying to work for a kimura but Mahoney is defending well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mahoney regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Rhino.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brutalis Rhino dominated that round.

Rhino ducks right into an uppercut from Mahoney.

Mahoney takes the fight into the clinch.
Rhino wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mahoney lands a nice knee to the body.
Mahoney tries a body shot but Rhino blocks it.
A nice right hand lands inside from Mahoney.
Rhino has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Mahoney has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Rhino is trying to keep an underhook but Mahoney manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Mahoney seems content to control.
Mahoney is continuing to stall.
Mahoney stops Rhino from getting back to his feet.

Rhino pushes Mahoney off looking to stand but Mahoney dives back in and keeps control.
Mahoney not doing much here.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Rhino looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Rhino is looking to control Mahoney's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rhino avoid being mounted?

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Mahoney is looking to clinch but Rhino is avoiding it.
Mahoney swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mahoney lands with a good body shot.
Rhino shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mahoney but Mahoney pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Mahoney doesn't manage to clinch there - Rhino circles away.
Mahoney fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rhino shoots in for a double leg but Mahoney sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mahoney tries to clinch but Rhino moves out of range.
Rhino appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Rhino fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brutalis Rhino. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rhino tries a head kick but it misses.

Mahoney has Rhino up against the ropes in a clinch.
Rhino tries to circle away but Mahoney has him pinned against the ropes.
Rhino takes an elbow to the forehead.
Mahoney throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Rhinos head.
Mahoney is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.

Mahoney stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Still in the clinch, Mahoney scores with a nice short uppercut.
Rhino is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Mahoney scores a nice knee to the body.
Mahoney lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Rhino has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mahoney avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Rhino can't get the takedown.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Mahoney.
Mahoney digs a right hand into Rhino's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Rhino's gas tank.
Rhino working hard to break the clinch.
Rhino wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mahoney digs a right hand underneath Rhino's ribcage. Rhino let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Carey Mahoney seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Mahoney stops a takedown attempt from Rhino.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mahoney lands a body shot in the clinch.
Mahoney dips a shoulder and cracks Rhino with a mighty uppercut! Rhino falls back against the ropes and Mahoney unloads with a barrage of strikes! Rhino is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the ropes! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Mahoney screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carey Mahoney!
Carey Mahoney was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
