Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, CJ Tripp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrew Henry Jr!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tripp looks to throw the jab but Henry Jr is out of range.
Tripp misses the shot to the body.
Henry Jr takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Tripp swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Some wild striking there from Henry Jr.
Tripp misses with a straight right.
Tripp cracks a nice hook into Henry Jr's ribs.
Tripp moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Henry Jr takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Tripp throws a body punch but Henry Jr moves out of range.
Henry Jr is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Henry Jr uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tripp.
Tripp ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Henry Jr moves away.

Henry Jr swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Tripp counters with a straight right hand.
Henry Jr's coach down at St Petersburg MMA Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Henry Jr's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tripp gets tackled into the cage by Henry Jr. Henry Jr maintains the clinch.

I was talking to Tripp's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Tripp lands a hook that snaps the head of Henry Jr backwards.
Henry Jr is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Tripp is defending well for now.

Tripp lands a right hand that snaps the head of Henry Jr backwards.

Tripp on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Tripp pushes Henry Jr back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Henry Jr swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Henry Jr goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Henry Jr tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Tripp's elbow.

Tripp digs a right hand underneath Henry Jr's ribcage. Henry Jr let out a lung full of air as it connected.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tripp on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Henry Jr throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Henry Jr misses with a knee to the head.
Henry Jr fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Henry Jr makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Tripp escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Henry Jr takes a jab right on the kisser.
Henry Jr swings for the body but Tripp moves out of range.
Henry Jr throws a jab when Tripp was well out of range.
Henry Jr falls off balance throwing a combination
and Tripp counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Henry Jr looks winded!
Tripp circles away from the clinch attempt
and Henry Jr takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


Henry Jr is rocked!
Henry Jr looks up at the clock. Bad move! Tripp lands a right hand from hell, dropping Henry Jr. Tripp pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). CJ Tripp!
A very excited looking CJ Tripp made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
