Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mason Alexis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Lilke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexis's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Bring the Noise -Anthrax. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alexis looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Lilke shoots in for a double leg but Alexis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Lilke fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Alexis throws a right hand that Lilke ducks under and follows up with a left that Lilke also avoids with ease. Lilke misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Alexis.
Alexis moves into the clinch. Alexis working some nice short punches in the clinch. Alexis scores a nice knee to the body.
Alexis crunches a lovely knee into Lilke's ribcage. Lilke looks gassed! Lilke can't get the takedown.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Alexis trying to control but Lilke is working from the bottom. Alexis throws a big right hand that misses. Alexis pushing down on Lilke's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Still in half guard, Alexis seems content to control. Alexis has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Alexis is trying to control. Lilke wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Mason Alexis just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Alexis connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Alexis lands with a nice body punch. Alexis thuds his shin into the meat of Lilke's side. Alexis moves into the clinch. Alexis lands with a light punch inside. Alexis slows down the pace here.

Alexis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Alexis is looking to work some ground and pound but Lilke has wrist control. Alexis thows a big elbow that misses. Lilke utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Alexis - that will leave a mark!
Alexis darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Alexis moves nicely into side control.

Lilke is working to avoid the ground and pound but Alexis connects with a decent elbow. Alexis lands a nice forearm strike. Alexis scoring with punches from side control. Alexis working the ground and pound but Lilke is defending the strikes. Alexis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lilke, who protects the arm well. Lilke seems a little lost for a moment, as Alexis dominates the positioning.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lilke takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Alexis throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Alexis stands up and we're back to a striking position. Alexis scores with a three punch combo!
Alexis moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Crunch! Alexis slams his shin into Lilke's torso. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alexis connects with a solid leg kick. Alexis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lilke has his takedown stuffed enabling Alexis to counter with a crisp jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mason Alexis dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Jay Lilke's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Alexis throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Lilke. Alexis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lilke can do to turn this around? A swing and a miss from Alexis. Lilke drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Alexis throws a half hearted mid kick. Lilke takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Alexis closes the distance and pushes Lilke back into the cage. Lilke jumps guard but Alexis stands there with Lilke around his waist. Lilke gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Alexis using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lilke has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Alexis scores with a hook to the body. Lilke takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Alexis gets underhooks to prevent Lilke's takedown attempt.
Alexis crunches a lovely knee into Lilke's ribcage. Alexis connects with a knee to the head.
Alexis unloads a knee to the mid-section. Lilke lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alexis lands an uppercut. Alexis is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Lilke can't fight it off and eventually Alexis manages to take the fight to the floor. Lilke looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Alexis landing some decent shots from guard. Alexis tries to free his leg and advance position but Lilke is retaining full guard. Lilke is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alexis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alexis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Alexis is looking to work some ground and pound but Lilke has wrist control. Alexis with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Mason Alexis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Alexis scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Alexis trying to control but Lilke is working from the bottom. Alexis showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alexis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lilke swivels though and keeps the full guard. Alexis scoring with punches to the head and body. Alexis is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alexis distracts Lilke with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Alexis lands a couple of decent looking shots. Lilke avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Alexis is looking to work some ground and pound but Lilke has wrist control. Alexis wants to pass the guard but Lilke is keeping the position. Alexis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lilke's guard. Alexis tries to pass to full mount but Lilke defends it. Alexis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
And that's the end of the fight! Mason Alexis showed his dominance in that final round. Well Alexis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
