The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrovs lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Bestarsson backs up against the cage.
Bestarsson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Donk. Bestarsson catches Petrovs right on the button with a cross.
Petrovs misses with a few strikes there.
Bestarsson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Petrovs.

Petrovs clinches up with Bestarsson and pushes him back against the cage.
Petrovs on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bestarsson.
Petrovs is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bestarsson to keep the fight standing.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Petrovs.
Petrovs has had enough of the clinch but Bestarsson keeps him there for the moment.

Petrovs's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Petrovs misses with a takedown
and Petrovs takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Petrovs shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bestarsson as he avoids it easily.
Viktor Bestarsson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kaspars Petrovs.

Bestarsson works to advance to full mount. Petrovs defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Bestarsson gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Bestarsson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Petrovs shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bestarsson counters with a stiff right hand.

Petrovs is rocked!

It looks like Kaspars Petrovs has been cut.
Nice uppercut lands for Bestarsson. That snapped Petrovs's head back.
Petrovs is still on wobbly legs! Can Bestarsson finish him?
Kaspars Petrovs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bestarsson lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Petrovs up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Bestarsson from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Petrovs's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
