PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Super Man (ranked 2752 p4p, 265 weight class) and Vinnie Sixx (ranked 3771 p4p, 340 weight class). Sixx comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Fire of Power by WATAIN kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sixx shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Man defends it nicely.
Sixx throws a big shot that misses.
Sixx takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Man swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Man shoots in but Sixx avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sixx is looking to clinch.
Sixx takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
A telegraphed right hand from Sixx misses the target.
Sixx tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Man manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Sixx misses with a straight left.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Man throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

It looks like Super Man has been cut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sixx stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Man swivels though and keeps the full guard.

My spies in Touch Of Death Combat Academy inform me that Sixx has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Man is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Man.
Sixx shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Man as he jumps to the side.
Super Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vinnie Sixx.

Man gets back to half guard.
Man wants to get back to full guard.
Man wants to control but Sixx is keeping busy.

Man is controlling Sixx's trapped leg to prevent Sixx from advancing to side control.

A close round but Vinnie Sixx will probably get the nod.

Sixx goes for a double leg but Man avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Man continues to drive forward.

Sixx escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Man gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Sixx has momentary wrist control but Man slips an elbow through the middle.
Man stays in close to Sixx's body and controls the position.

Man got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sixx has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Man has managed to get both his arms back between Sixx's legs - danger averted.

Sixx throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Man sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Man changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Man tries to keep at a distance but Sixx has taken the fight into the clinch.
Man tries to throw a body punch but Sixx avoids it by throwing Man back against the cage.

Man gets underhooks to prevent Sixx's takedown attempt.
Super Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vinnie Sixx.
Sixx throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Mans head.
Sixx is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Man pulls him back up using the underhooks.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Man not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Sixx trying to control but Man is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Super Man will probably get the nod.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Man, as that shot connected.
