Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dan Maia (ranked 2493 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Marques (ranked 4464 p4p, 0 weight class). Marques has chosen Raining Blood as his entrance music. Dan Maia had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dan Maia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Marques! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maia avoids the body shot from Marques.
Marques connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Maia's hands. Marques drops his shoulder and cracks Maia with a huge uppercut! Maia goes down! Can Marques finish him?
It looks like Dan Maia has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Marques seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Maia is looking for a triangle here but Marques uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Maia is trying to improve his position. Maia is trying to escape the position but Marques is controlling the position. Maia might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Marques is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Maia is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Maia is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Star Studded Beef that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marques controlling the position. Maia is trying to improve his position. Marques content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Maia is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Marques gets to mount! Maia was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Maia keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marques controlling from the full mount. Marques with good strikes from the mount here! Maia in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Marques tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Maia tries to reverse the position but Marques maintains control. Marques is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Maia has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Maia! Maia gets to his feet - Marques follows without any prompting.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marques lands with a shot to the body. Marques wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Maia is breathing heavily. Marques stuns Maia with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Marques lands a nice looking body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Marques lands a big shot that drops Maia! Can he finish him?
Marques content to stall in guard here. Marques with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Marques's corner is telling him to maintain position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Billy Marques dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dan Maia's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Marques drops Maia with a big left hand and mounts him. Maia is in big trouble!
Maia is still looking wobbly from the end of the last round! Marques in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Oh Maia is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Marques looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Maia covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Billy Marques! After winning the bout, Billy Marques thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
