Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Billy Cubbedge (ranked 2565 p4p, 296 weight class) and Hannu Karpo (ranked 2175 p4p, 254 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Cubbedge !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hannu Karpo!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karpo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cubbedge moves away.
Cubbedge feinted with a counter takedown.
Crunch! Cubbedge slams his shin into Karpo's torso.
Cubbedge looks to land a right hand but Karpo moved out of range.
Cubbedge tries to bum rush Karpo with a series of wild strikes but Karpo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Karpo misses with a few strikes there.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Karpo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Karpo ducks under a wild hook from Cubbedge .
Cubbedge throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Cubbedge throws a front kick aimed at Karpo's knee but Karpo avoids it well.
Karpo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cubbedge .

and Karpo counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

It looks like Billy Cubbedge has been cut.

Cubbedge shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Karpo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cubbedge slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Karpo wants to sweep but no luck.
Karpo wants to control the position but Cubbedge says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Cubbedge wants to control but Karpo is keeping him busy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cubbedge is keen to just control but Karpo is a slippery customer.
Cubbedge is taking a breather. Karpo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Cubbedge wants to work for an arm triangle but Karpo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Karpo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Cubbedge connects with a crisp jab.
Cubbedge throws the left hand but Karpo avoids the punch easily.
Cubbedge digs a good hook to Karpo's body.

Karpo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cubbedge to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Karpo has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Cubbedge has passed into side control.

Karpo is squirming around, avoiding Cubbedge 's attempts to control the action.

Cubbedge misses with a looping left.
Cubbedge is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Karpo can do to turn this around?
Karpo scores with a three punch combo!

Billy Cubbedge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cubbedge throws out a leg kick but Karpo moves out of range and Cubbedge only half commits.

Cubbedge swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Cubbedge misses with the combination.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Karpo! But no joy.
Karpo cracks Cubbedge with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Karpo loads up on a big right hand but Cubbedge slips the punch.
Cubbedge has been working on his balance at Xtreme Foaming Shortcakes, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Karpo.

Karpo tries to move into range but Cubbedge moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Cubbedge is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Karpo.

Karpo throws a hook to the side of Cubbedge 's head but Cubbedge sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Cubbedge takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Cubbedge trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Karpo has his feet on Cubbedge 's thighs here. He's pushed Cubbedge off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Cubbedge screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

In his post fight interview, Hannu Karpo started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
