Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gaultier Girard (ranked 302 p4p, 49 weight class) and William Snowdon (ranked 275 p4p, 44 weight class). Gaultier Girard could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to William Snowdon's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Girard takes one on the button.
Girard throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Girard falls off balance throwing a combination
and Snowdon counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Snowdon looking to pass the guard.
Snowdon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Snowdon keeps trying to improve his position.
Snowdon has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Valhalla MMA. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Snowdon trying to control but Girard is working from the bottom.

Girard wants to sweep here but Snowdon controlling him for the moment.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Girard seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Snowdon has a takedown stuffed.
Girard cracks Snowdon with a right hand to the side of the head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Snowdon has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Girard.
Snowdon misses with a straight left.
Snowdon scores with a crisp jab that stopped Girard in his tracks.
Girard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Snowdon jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Girard seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Girard looks to score with a jab to the body but Snowdon is just out of range.
Snowdon lands a jab.
Girard misses the shot to the body.
Girard is looking to score with low kicks.
Snowdon moves out of range as Girard throws a body kick.
Girard connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Snowdon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Snowdon lands with a shot to the body.
Snowdon throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Girard counters with a left and a right that stings Snowdon.
Snowdon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Girard counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Snowdon is rocked!
Gaultier Girard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Snowdon.
Snowdon looks for a takedown but Girard sprawls well.
Girard misses with the body kick
and Snowdon counters with a stiff right hand.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Girard, right into the meat.
Nice takedown defense from Girard. No joy for Snowdon on that attempt.
Girard sends Snowdon crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Girard is motioning to the referee to let Snowdon up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Snowdon is still on wobbly legs! Can Girard finish him?

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Snowdon throws a body shot but no joy.
Girard feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Girard takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Snowdon seems to have recovered his senses.
Snowdon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Girard swivels and escapes.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Girard checks a leg kick.
Snowdon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Girard sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Snowdon somewhat.
Snowdon blocks a head kick by Girard.
Snowdon lands with a good body shot.
Girard lands a big uppercut and Snowdon crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Snowdon looks OK. Girard waves Snowdon back to his feet!
It looks like William Snowdon has been cut.
Snowdon looks to throw the jab but Girard is out of range.
Snowdon is holding his hands too far apart here. Girard throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Snowdon is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gaultier Girard!
A very excited looking Gaultier Girard rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
