PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Wangler (ranked 1427 p4p, 194 weight class) and George Peterson (ranked 1247 p4p, 169 weight class). Wangler comes to the cage accompanied by The Clash - I Fought The Law. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wangler circles away quickly and effectively.
Wangler changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peterson tries to avoid it but Wangler manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peterson to the ground. Peterson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Wangler fails with a takedown attempt.
Wangler shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Peterson as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Wangler. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Peterson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Wangler swats away the attempt to clinch by Peterson.
Peterson misses with a body shot
and Peterson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Wangler tries to work over Peterson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Wangler dives in and grabs Peterson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Peterson pushes down on Wangler's head and hops out.
Peterson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wangler closes the distance and clinches up with Peterson, looking for a takedown. Wangler pushes Peterson against the cage but Peterson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

With the fighters up against the cage, Peterson throws an elbow but misses.

Wangler turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Wangler manages to end up in side control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Wangler is nestled in close to Peterson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Wangler is trying to control the action in half guard but Peterson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Wangler tries to clinch up but Peterson pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Wangler to the mat! Wangler covers up and Peterson unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
