Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Murley (ranked 831 p4p, 119 weight class) and Mohsin Zaidi (ranked 861 p4p, 131 weight class). Murley kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rage Against The Machine | Bulls On Parade. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mohsin Zaidi!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zaidi shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Zaidi showed some decent athleticism there.
Murley wants to get back to full guard.
Murley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zaidi on the ground.
Zaidi lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Zaidi connects with a nice short shot to Murley's temple.
Murley has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Murley wants to control but Zaidi is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Murley pulls Zaidi in close to his closed guard and prevents Zaidi from doing any damage or advancing position.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Murley throws a jab when Zaidi was well out of range.
Zaidi has a takedown stuffed.
Murley lands with a hook. Zaidi tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


It looks like Mohsin Zaidi has been cut.
Murley misses the shot to the body.
Zaidi goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A big right from Murley misses.
Mohsin Zaidi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Zaidi.
Murley tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Zaidi was well out of range. Poor timing from Murley.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A combination from Murley does no damage.
Zaidi tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Murley leaves Zaidi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

It looked like Murley wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Zaidi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Murley stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Murley wants it to stay on the feet.

Zaidi throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Murley is looking to counter punch.
Murley displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Zaidi throws out the jab.
Murley takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Zaidi ducks under a wild hook from Murley.
Nice uppercut lands for Murley. That snapped Zaidi's head back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Murley throws a series of punches but Zaidi avoids them all with ease.

Zaidi throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Zaidi swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Murley connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Zaidi throws a half hearted mid kick.
Murley throwing a counter right hand but Zaidi manages to avoid it.
Zaidi pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Murley takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Murley enables Zaidi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Murley manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Zaidi is fighting to break Murley's control of his arms but Murley is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zaidi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Murley controls Zaidi momentarily but Zaidi frees himself.

Murley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Zaidi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Murley swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Scott Murley will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Mohsin Zaidi's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Zaidi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Murley circles away.

and Murley counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Murley avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Zaidi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Murley won't allow Zaidi to sweep him here.

Zaidi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Murley stays in close to Zaidi's body and controls the position.

I think Zaidi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
