Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Drake Blaze (ranked 4256 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Kosta (ranked 4248 p4p, 419 weight class). Drake Blaze has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Drake Blaze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Don Kosta!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Steven Brown and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.

Kosta scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Kosta is trying to get an arm triangle but Blaze is defending well.

Kosta thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kosta swings around for an armbar but Blaze sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kosta's guard.

Blaze looking to sit in guard and control but Kosta gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Kosta drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Blaze dives on top into guard.

Blaze really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Blaze has his foot on Kosta's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kosta works his way back into a safe position though.

Blaze working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kosta doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kosta manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kosta drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Blaze manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kosta has Blaze in his guard.


Blaze postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kosta is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Blaze, into his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Blaze wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kosta, who protects the arm well.
Kosta is not content to let Blaze control the position.
Kosta pushes Blaze away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Blaze gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Blaze goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Kosta has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Blaze but great work by Kosta.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round but I would say that Drake Blaze will probably get the nod.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Drake Blaze.
Well Blaze has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
