Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Glass (ranked 4484 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Diaz (ranked 4560 p4p, 463 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Diaz! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Glass.

Diaz scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Diaz scores with a jab to the head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Glass takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Diaz connects with a nice looking jab.

Diaz feints a jab promting Glass to slip. Diaz then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Glass slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Glass bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Diaz's head. Matt Diaz seems to be getting the better of the standup. Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch but Glass swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Glass throws a lazy uppercut
and Diaz counters with a three punch combo that has Glass backing up. Glass nods at Diaz to acknowledge the strikes. Diaz scores with a takedown into Glass's guard. Diaz lands a couple of digs. Glass keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully. Diaz working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz wants to control from the top but Glass keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diaz gets to his feet - Glass follows without any prompting. No joy there for Diaz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Glass takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Glass avoids a punch combination nicely.

Alexander Glass is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The fight moves into the clinch position. Diaz tries to throw a body punch but Glass avoids it by throwing Diaz back against the cage. Diaz misses with a short punch on the inside. Diaz is trying to drag Glass to the mat but Glass just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Diaz jumps guard but Glass turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Glass escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Glass on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Glass fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Diaz manages to avoid it. Sloppy strikes from Diaz. Those never looked like landing. Diaz is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Glass lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Diaz avoids the head kick by Glass.
Diaz wants to clinch up but Glass keeps it at a distance. Glass seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Glass pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Diaz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Glass's waist but Glass gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side. The fight stays on the outside here - Diaz looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A looping hook to the body misses from Diaz. Glass does a little dance to reset his feet. Diaz fails in his attempt to clinch. Donk. Diaz catches Glass right on the button with a cross. Diaz throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Glass is looking to chop away at Diaz's legs.

Diaz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Diaz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Diaz trying to control the action but Glass is working from the bottom. Diaz working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Glass tries to escape but Diaz is in control.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Matt Diaz. Well Diaz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
