Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ade Takulai (ranked 2472 p4p, 312 weight class) and Junior Dos Santos (ranked 6925 p4p, 596 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ade Takulai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Junior Dos Santos! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Columbo Gatti and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dos Santos bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Takulai is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Dos Santos is controlling him well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dos Santos is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Takulai has escaped the position, nice work there. Takulai tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dos Santos wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Dos Santos thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Takulai wants to control but Dos Santos postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dos Santos tries to move into full mount but can't pass Takulai's legs. Dos Santos prevents Takulai from escaping the position. Takulai defending against the ground and pound. Dos Santos goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Takulai has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dos Santos but great work by Takulai.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dos Santos tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Takulai wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Takulai working away. Dos Santos is looking to regain half guard here but Takulai keeps moving and retains side control. Takulai lands a decent elbow from side control. Dos Santos tries to buck Takulai off but Takulai is having none of it. Dos Santos seems a little lost for a moment, as Takulai dominates the positioning. Dos Santos gets back to half guard. Takulai slips a nice elbow through Dos Santos's hands, connecting with Dos Santos's forehead. Takulai stalling. Dos Santos is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Takulai scores with a couple of nice shots. Dos Santos tries to roll over but Takulai keeps him under control. Dos Santos on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Takulai looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dos Santos is refusing to be controlled, as Takulai sits in half guard. Dos Santos is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Takulai lands a nice short elbow. Dos Santos makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Dos Santos. Takulai is looking to work some ground and pound but Dos Santos has wrist control. Dos Santos looking for a guillotine here but Takulai defends easily.
Takulai might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Takulai is looking to work some ground and pound but Dos Santos has wrist control. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Dos Santos has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Takulai can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. We've been hearing good reports from Takulai's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Takulai is working Dos Santos over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Takulai forces his way into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Dos Santos is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Takulai pulls his head out easily.

Takulai is looking to take a break and control but Dos Santos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Takulai lands strikes from half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Takulai lands a nice short elbow. Dos Santos looking for submissions off his back. Takulai lands strikes from half guard. Dos Santos looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Takulai lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Takulai connects with a nice short shot to Dos Santos's temple.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dos Santos looking for submissions off his back. Takulai uses his free foot to push down on Dos Santos's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Dos Santos. Takulai raining down shots from the mount!
It looks like Junior Dos Santos has been cut. Takulai avoids the attempt from Dos Santos to control. BOOM! Takulai connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Takulai lands a big elbow.
Dos Santos is rocked! Takulai loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Dos Santos scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Takulai land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Takulai stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ade Takulai! After the big win, Ade Takulai made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Urban Fighter and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
