Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between nao sei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Groman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). sei comes to the cage accompanied by Hit The Lights. Marcelo Groman has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo Groman!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Groman has closed the distance and engaged sei in a clinch.
Groman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Groman works the jab nicely.
sei fails to land the takedown.
Groman lands with a nice body punch.
sei closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Groman tries to buck sei off but sei is having none of it.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
sei has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
sei takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Groman is looking to slow sei down with leg kicks.
Groman tries to close the distance and clinch but sei swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Groman.
Groman gets a clinch.
sei tries to pull guard but Groman won't allow it.
Groman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Groman pushes sei away with a front kick.
sei is breathing heavily.
Groman tries to clinch but sei moves out of range.
Groman throws a quick head kick that skims the top of sei's head.
Groman moves into the clinch.
Groman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Groman moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Groman has sei up against the cage in a clinch.
Groman breaks from the clinch.

Groman closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming sei to the mat! sei manages to get full guard.
Groman trying to control the position from guard on top but sei is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

sei has momentary wrist control but Groman slips an elbow through the middle.
Groman trying to stand up but can't free himself from sei's guard.
Groman works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Groman lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

sei actively working from the bottom here.
sei is trying to get back to full guard.
Groman is keen to just control but sei is a slippery customer.
Groman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with sei. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Groman is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Groman drives through and clinches with sei against the cage.
Knees in the clinch landing for Groman.
sei has Groman pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Groman manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for nao sei. That's going to take a lot out of him.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
sei avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Marcelo Groman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Groman thumps sei with a low kick.
Groman fails with an attempt to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Groman instigates a clinch.
Groman manages to break the clinch.
A right-left combo lands from Groman.
Groman misses with a head kick.
sei shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Groman counters with a three punch combo that has sei backing up. sei nods at Groman to acknowledge the strikes.
sei tries to keep at a distance but Groman has taken the fight into the clinch.
sei is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Groman pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for nao sei. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Groman has picked sei up - he's going for a ride! Groman dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
sei is doing well to control the position and prevent Groman from advancing to side control.

Groman is thwarting sei's attempts to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
sei wants to control but Groman passes into side.

sei is trying to work for a sweep but Groman has mounted him!
sei tries to lock up and control but Groman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

sei is trying to escape the mount.
Groman avoids the attempt from sei to control.
Groman wants to control the pace but sei is squirming around nicely.

Groman lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
sei tries to lock up and control but Groman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The referee stands the fighters back up. nao sei just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Groman stuns sei with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
sei swats away the attempt to clinch by Groman.
A right-left combo lands from Groman.
Groman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. sei tries to avoid it but Groman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag sei to the ground. sei escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
nao sei is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
sei looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
sei postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Groman to stand up.
Groman tries a head kick but it misses.
Groman throws a head kick but sei moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcelo Groman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

and Groman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in sei's guard.

Groman is sitting in close to sei's body. sei has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Groman is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Groman is tapping! That was a very nice submission by sei.
