Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Gabriel (ranked 3343 p4p, 304 weight class) and Mike Mohammed (ranked 24656 p4p, 528 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mohammed pushes Gabriel up against the cage in a clinch.

Gabriel has picked Mohammed up - he's going for a ride! Gabriel dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Mohammed is looking to control Gabriel's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mohammed avoid being mounted?
Mohammed might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gabriel haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Mohammed wants to improve his position but Gabriel is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gabriel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gabriel is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Gabriel seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mohammed does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mohammed changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gabriel fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Gabriel stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Mohammed has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Gabriel manages to get his head free but now Mohammed has transitioned to an armbar! Gabriel grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Mohammed! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
