Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Noel Johnson (ranked 4629 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darrel Roscoe (ranked 24642 p4p, 0 weight class). Darrel Roscoe is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Noel Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Darrel Roscoe! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson shoots in for a double leg but Roscoe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Johnson goes for a double leg but Roscoe avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Roscoe continues to drive forward. Johnson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Noel Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Roscoe tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Roscoe shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Johnson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Johnson looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roscoe's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roscoe postures up in Johnson's guard and throws a big left but Johnson blocks it. Johnson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Roscoe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Johnson is keeping the position for now.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Roscoe closes the distance and clinches up with Johnson, looking for a takedown. Roscoe pushes Johnson against the cage but Johnson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Johnson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Roscoe's waist but Roscoe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson off to one side. Roscoe bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Roscoe tries to stand but Johnson is controlling his head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roscoe lands a nice forearm strike. Roscoe is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Johnson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Roscoe tries to move into full mount but can't pass Johnson's legs. Roscoe wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson is being controlled here. Roscoe thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. A lull in the action here as Roscoe stalls from top position. Johnson taking a bit of punishment here - Roscoe scoring with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Johnson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Roscoe just content to control the position. Let's hope that Roscoe has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Johnson misses with a takedown attempt and Roscoe counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Roscoe. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Roscoe ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Roscoe no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Johnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Roscoe throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Roscoe pulls Johnson in close to prevent any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Darrel Roscoe dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Johnson tries to keep at a distance but Roscoe has taken the fight into the clinch. Roscoe manages to pull guard.
Johnson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Johnson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Johnson's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Johnson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Johnson working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Roscoe wants to stand and escape but Johnson is having none of it. Johnson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Roscoe looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Roscoe looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Roscoe! Johnson takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roscoe in side control lands a decent elbow. Johnson prevents Roscoe from moving into mount. Roscoe tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Johnson trying to remain calm as Roscoe controls from the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Johnson stops Roscoe from passing to mount. Roscoe has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Johnson is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Johnson prevents Roscoe from moving into mount. Johnson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Roscoe connects with a decent elbow. Johnson seems a little lost for a moment, as Roscoe dominates the positioning. Roscoe wants to stand but Johnson is controlling his arm.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roscoe creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Johnson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Johnson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Roscoe wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Darrel Roscoe has got the better of the ground game so far. Roscoe looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Roscoe. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Johnson is being controlled here.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Roscoe darts in looking for a takedown but Johnson gets double underhooks and turns Roscoe into the cage. Johnson tries to counter by clinching up but Roscoe breaks away and moves out of range. Roscoe forces Johnson back against the cage and clinches. Johnson tries to pull guard but Roscoe won't allow it.

Roscoe has picked Johnson up - he's going for a ride! Roscoe dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Johnson tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Roscoe is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Roscoe scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Roscoe perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Roscoe slips a nice elbow through Johnson's hands, connecting with Johnson's forehead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Darrel Roscoe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Roscoe manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Johnson on his heels. He'll look to pass Johnson's guard now, I'm sure. Roscoe controlling from the top position. Roscoe wants to stand and escape but instead Johnson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Johnson landing some decent shots from guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roscoe has control of Johnson's left arm, preventing Johnson from doing any damage. Johnson stopping the sweep attempt from Roscoe. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johnson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Roscoe preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Johnson stuns Roscoe with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Roscoe takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Johnson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Johnson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Roscoe can do anything to dispel that myth. Johnson is putting a hurting on Roscoe here, landing some big shots from side control. Johnson is trying to ground and pound but Roscoe uses the momentary lack of control by Johnson to regain half guard. Johnson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
