Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andre Lavella (ranked 4630 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leon Hooker (ranked 6131 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Andre Lavella has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Andre Lavella seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Leon Hooker!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lavella shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lavella lands a nice short elbow.
Lavella is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lavella controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Hooker has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lavella is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hooker.
Hooker can't do much from the bottom here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lavella decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hooker to his feet.
Lavella shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hooker's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lavella is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Lavella works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Hooker is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lavella pulls his head out easily.
Lavella is controlling the pace.
Hooker looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lavella decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Leon Hooker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lavella tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hooker paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lavella is looking to clinch.
Hooker thuds his right hand into Lavella's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
It looks like Andre Lavella has been cut.
Hooker comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Hooker throws a jab but it's blocked by Lavella.
Hooker lands with a right hand.
Hooker looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Lavella has closed the distance and engaged Hooker in a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hooker gets underhooks to prevent Lavella's takedown attempt.
Hooker swings wildly with an uppercut but Lavella uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lavella goes for a takedown attempt but Hooker pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Lavella is breathing heavily.
Lavella clinches with his opponent.
Lavella breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hooker throws a hook but Lavella avoids it easily.
Hooker misses with a two punch combination.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lavella.
Hooker throws out a counter right but Lavella avoids it with no problem.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andre Lavella. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hooker throws a nice looking combination but Lavella bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lavella is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Hooker.
Hooker darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Lavella fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lavella takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hooker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lavella takes a jab right on the kisser.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Leon Hooker will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Andre Lavella's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Hooker throws a right hand that Lavella ducks under and follows up with a left that Lavella also avoids with ease.
Lavella misses with a two punch combination.
Hooker should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Lavella moves into the clinch.
Lavella has clasped his hands together around Hooker's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Lavella stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Hooker just misses with a punch to the body.
Lavella does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Hooker looks like he wants to counter punch here.

and Hooker counters with a three punch combo that has Lavella backing up. Lavella nods at Hooker to acknowledge the strikes.

Lavella closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hooker to the mat! Hooker manages to get full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lavella is sitting in close to Hooker's body. Hooker has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Lavella is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Lavella is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Hooker.
