Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Cain Diaz (ranked 6068 p4p, 502 weight class) and Pedro Scherer (ranked 7031 p4p, 536 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cain Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Scherer! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz checks the leg kick. Diaz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Diaz thows a left - swing and a miss! Diaz blocks a head kick by Scherer.
Cain Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Scherer. Diaz throws a right and a left that both miss. A countering left hand to the body from Scherer misses. Diaz scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Scherer to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.
It looks like Pedro Scherer has been cut. Diaz throws a looping overhand right but Scherer ducks down to avoid it. Diaz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Scherer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nice shot by Diaz. Diaz on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Scherer. Scherer obviously looking to wear him down.
Diaz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Scherer circles away quickly and effectively. Diaz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Scherer. Diaz swings for the body but Scherer moves out of range.
Diaz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz throws a hook to the side of Scherer's head but Scherer sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A looping hook to the body misses from Scherer. Diaz does a little dance to reset his feet. Diaz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Scherer manages to avoid it. Scherer appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Scherer showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Diaz.

Diaz tries to bum rush Scherer with a series of wild strikes but Scherer uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Scherer has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Scherer tries to land a leg kick but Diaz saw it coming and moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz throws a combination that misses and Scherer counters with a leg kick. No joy there for Diaz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Diaz is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Scherer's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Scherer lands a glancing blow to the side of Diaz's head. A nice combination there by Diaz.
Diaz works Scherer's body with a nice hook. A swing and a miss from Diaz. Diaz punishes Scherer's body with a nice straight punch. Diaz connects with a crisp jab. Scherer buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Scherer fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Diaz getting the better of the striking in that exchange. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Scherer misses with a lunging right hand
and Diaz connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Diaz misses with a straight left. Scherer looks like he wants to counter punch here. Scherer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Diaz.

It looked like Diaz was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Scherer lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Scherer connects with an inside leg kick. Scherer lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Diaz throws a right hand that misses
and Scherer counters with a nice low kick that buckles Diaz's knee momentarily. Diaz throws a jab when Scherer was well out of range. Cain Diaz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Diaz throws a right and a left that Scherer avoids nicely. Diaz waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Scherer. Scherer's jab looks to have found its range, popping Diaz under the eye. Diaz looks to land a left hand but Scherer moved out of range nicely. A big left from Diaz misses. Scherer throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Diaz throws a nice looking combination but Scherer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Scherer has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Scherer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nice shot by Diaz. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Diaz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

And that's the end of the fight! Cain Diaz showed his dominance in that final round. Well Diaz has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
