Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robert Diaz (ranked 2962 p4p, 327 weight class) and Motu Te Tai (ranked 2882 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Motu Te Tai! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Chris Dean and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Te Tai bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Te Tai clinches up against the cage. Te Tai manages to break the clinch.

Diaz looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Te Tai! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Te Tai can do anything to dispel that myth. Diaz trying to control the position but Te Tai is working away. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Te Tai throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Diaz drops down looking for a counter takedown but Te Tai sprawls and moves away. Diaz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Te Tai's waist but Te Tai gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side. Motu Te Tai is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Te Tai throws a head kick that half lands.

Te Tai closes the distance and pushes Diaz back into the cage. Diaz pulls guard. Diaz has a closed guard, preventing Te Tai from standing up. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Diaz is on top in guard.

Te Tai closes the distance and pushes Diaz back into the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Diaz manages to pull guard.
Te Tai is fighting to break Diaz's control of his arms but Diaz is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Te Tai stands up from guard. Let's bang! Te Tai fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Diaz, pushing him back against the cage. Diaz fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Diaz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Te Tai but Te Tai pushes him off and we're back to square one. Te Tai has Diaz up against the cage in a clinch.

We're now in half guard. Diaz trying to control the pace. Diaz has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Te Tai wants to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Motu Te Tai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Diaz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Te Tai would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Diaz is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Te Tai has his hands clasped together but Diaz extends and breaks Te Tai's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Diaz.
