Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Barboza (ranked 4877 p4p, 452 weight class) and David Danis (ranked 6088 p4p, 502 weight class). Barboza comes to the cage accompanied by You don't know. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that David Danis was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Barboza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Danis! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Dean Styles and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Danis fails with the takedown. Barboza stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Barboza wants it to stay on the feet. Danis closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Barboza quickly recovers to half guard. Danis content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Danis landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Danis tries to pass the half guard into mount. Barboza knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barboza is trying to stand.

That's one minute gone in the round. Danis content to control rather than advance. Danis moves into full mount! Barboza won't be happy about that! Danis working the ground and pound effectively.
Danis lands a couple of good shots and Barboza has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Barboza definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Danis controls the position. It looks like Danis might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Danis is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Barboza up.
Barboza is breathing heavily. Barboza is trying to defend against the choke here but Danis has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Danis Tightens the hold and Barboza taps out furiously! Danis displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). David Danis!
