Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jasper Ghost (ranked 2714 p4p, 296 weight class) and Jax Dempsey (ranked 4465 p4p, 440 weight class). Jax Dempsey has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jasper Ghost's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dempsey throws a leg kick but Ghost moved away.

and Ghost takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ghost blocks a head kick by Dempsey.
A punch combination from Dempsey misses.
Ghost stuffs the takedown attempt from Dempsey. Dempsey gets slowly back to his feet.
Dempsey tries to clinch but Ghost moves out of range.
Dempsey shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ghost as he avoids it easily.

Dempsey moves into range and clinches up with Ghost.
Ghost fails to pull the fight into his guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dempsey tries to circle away but Ghost has him pinned against the cage.
Ghost tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dempsey just stands there and leans against the cage.

Ghost drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dempsey manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ghost has Dempsey in his guard.

Dempsey stands and steps away. Ghost gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Dempsey shoots in looking for a takedown but Ghost manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dempsey's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Horrible takedown attempt by Dempsey or perhaps it was just good defense by Ghost, which made it look bad.

and Ghost counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Dempsey has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Ghost is on him like a limpet, forcing Dempsey back against the cage.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jasper Ghost will probably get the nod.

Ghost is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jasper Ghost.
I think Ghost has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
