Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddy Gordo!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith gets caught napping as Gordo dives in and scores a takedown. Smith manages to retain guard.
Smith keeping moving, preventing Gordo from controlling successfully.
Gordo passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Smith tries to improve position but can't.
Gordo moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Smith has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Gordo lands an elbow.
Gordo working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Gordo is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith is trying to improve his position.
Gordo has an Americana. Smith didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Gordo is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Gordo hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Eddy Gordo!
Eddy Gordo was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
