Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gustav Ahr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chief Navajo! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Navajo shoots for a double leg takedown but Ahr sprawls well. He's pushed Navajo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Navajo shoots in for a takedown but Ahr shows good takedown defense. Ahr misses with a wild body shot. Ahr falls off balance throwing a combination
and Navajo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Navajo. Navajo is looking to work some ground and pound but Ahr has wrist control. Navajo lands a couple of decent looking shots. Ahr is trying to control the position but Navajo postures up. Ahr wants to stand but Navajo is controlling the position. Navajo landing some decent shots from guard. Navajo preventing the sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Navajo content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Ahr has momentary wrist control but Navajo slips an elbow through the middle. Navajo throws an elbow that misses. Ahr uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Navajo's guard. Nice move by Ahr!
Navajo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ahr doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ahr manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Navajo has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Ahr doesn't defend quickly enough and Navajo has managed to lock this one up! Can Ahr escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Navajo on a fantastic submission victory.
