Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rob Robertson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Viktor Drago! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Hugh Johnson and Chris Dean.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Robertson. No joy for Drago on that attempt. Robertson tries to bum rush Drago with a series of wild strikes but Drago uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Drago steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Robertson. Drago slaps away a takedown attempt from Robertson, before circling back to the center of the mat. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Drago. Drago tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Robertson moves out of range of the body kick. Drago changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Robertson tries to avoid it but Drago manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Robertson to the ground. Robertson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Rob Robertson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Viktor Drago. Robertson shoots in for a takedown but Drago shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Robertson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Drago throws out a loose jab but Robertson uses good head movement to avoid it. Robertson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Robertson pulls guard effortlessly. Robertson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Drago controls the pace. Drago wants to control from the top but Robertson keeps moving. Robertson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Drago trying to control the position from guard on top but Robertson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Drago looking to pass the guard.

Robertson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Drago doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Drago manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Robertson moves into the clinch. Drago tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Robertson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Robertson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Drago darts in and clinches Robertson up against the cage. Drago is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Robertson wants a takedown but no success here.
Robertson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Robertson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Robertson lets loose with a powerful body kick. Drago will feel that in the morning. Drago shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Robertson sprawls well. Robertson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Drago gets slowly back to his feet.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Drago tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Robertson defends well and Drago ends up having to push Robertson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Robertson feinted with a counter takedown.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Robertson tries to pull guard but Drago forces him back to his feet, against the cage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Robertson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Drago is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Robertson gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Robertson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Drago can do to turn this around? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Robertson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Robertson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Drago will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Robertson stands and steps away. Drago gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Donk. Robertson catches Drago right on the button with a cross. Robertson sizes up Drago with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Robertson fails with the takedown. Robertson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Drago sprawls well. Drago wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Robertson gets slowly back to his feet. Drago is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rob Robertson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Drago forces Robertson back against the cage and clinches. Drago is trying to drag Robertson to the mat but Robertson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Drago letting Robertson take a breather here. Drago is looking for a takedown.

Robertson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Drago with a lazy takedown attempt and Robertson counters with a left and a right that stings Drago. Drago dives in and grabs Robertson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Robertson pushes down on Drago's head and hops out. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Robertson.

Robertson moves into range and clinches up with Drago. Robertson jumps guard but Drago turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Robertson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Drago to keep the fight standing. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Robertson can't get the takedown.
Drago jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Robertson walks away with a smile on his face. Drago gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Drago throws a sloppy head kick and Robertson moves out of range easily. Drago fails in his attempt to clinch. A little feinted left hand from Robertson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Robertson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Drago sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Robertson somewhat.

Drago gets tackled into the cage by Robertson. Robertson maintains the clinch. Robertson has Drago pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Drago manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Drago tries to pull guard but Robertson won't allow it.

Drago shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Robertson is trying to defend but Drago finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Drago wants to pass the guard but Robertson is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Drago is trying to control. Robertson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Drago is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Robertson is just riding it out for now. Drago eventually gives up the hold. Drago is trying to control the action in half guard but Robertson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Robertson has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Drago is on him like a limpet, forcing Robertson back against the cage. Drago is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Robertson is defending well.
Robertson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Robertson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Robertson wants to stand and escape but Drago is having none of it. Robertson keeping moving, preventing Drago from controlling successfully. Robertson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Drago must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Robertson keeping moving, preventing Drago from controlling successfully.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rob Robertson. Well Robertson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
