Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jb Brown (ranked 1334 p4p, 162 weight class) and Seymour Hughes (ranked 655 p4p, 83 weight class). Brown comes to the cage accompanied by A lot by 21 savage/j cole. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jb Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Seymour Hughes!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hughes counters with a stiff right hand.


It looks like Jb Brown has been cut.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Brown.
Brown throwing shots but missing, from side control.
What's Hughes going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Brown tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Hughes to see if he's OK.
You can see the frustration on Hughes's face as Brown controls the position.
Brown misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Brown working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Brown has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Brown in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Hughes managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Brown.
Brown wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hughes keeps working.

Brown swings around for an armbar but Hughes sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Brown's guard.

Brown has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hughes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brown is pulling down on Hughes's head. It's preventing any offense from Hughes, at least for the moment.

Hughes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brown has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hughes has managed to get both his arms back between Brown's legs - danger averted.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Brown looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hughes has picked Brown up and slammed him! Brown can't keep hold of the triangle and Hughes manages to pass to side control!
Brown is trying to improve his position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hughes controls the position from side control.
Brown wants to control but Hughes postures up.
Brown tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brown struggling a bit here.
Hughes taking a breather here.
Brown wants to control but Hughes postures up.
Brown looks to move to half guard but instead Hughes has passed into mount! Damn!
Brown is trying to escape the mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Brown gets back to half guard.
Brown trying to control but Hughes postures up.
Hughes prevents Brown from improving his position.
Hughes looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Seymour Hughes will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Jb Brown's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Brown's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hughes under the eye.
Brown throws a hook to the side of Hughes's head but Hughes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Brown looks to throw the jab but Hughes is out of range.
Brown swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Brown slips a jab from Hughes.
Brown swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Brown misses with a lunging right hand
and Hughes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hughes. Hughes circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Brown connects with the punch.
Brown throws a hook but Hughes avoids it easily.
Hughes moves out of range of the strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brown scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hughes doesn't seem bothered though.
Brown fails with a takedown attempt.
Brown moves away from the strike by Hughes.
Brown was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Brown misses with a left hand
and Hughes counters with a straight right hand.
Brown looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Jb Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hughes batters Brown with a massive right followed by a huge left! Brown is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Hughes lands a final crushing right hand to drop Brown to the mat with a gruesome thud! Hughes is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Seymour Hughes!
Seymour Hughes took his opportunity to call for a title shot in his post fight interview.
