Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edwin Wynn (ranked 5976 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taisna Zarna (ranked 4502 p4p, 0 weight class). Taisna Zarna will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Edwin Wynn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Taisna Zarna!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zarna throws a head kick but Wynn moves out of range.

Wynn shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Zarna wants to sweep here but Wynn controlling him for the moment.
Wynn could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Wynn throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Zarna works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Wynn slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Zarna.
Zarna controlling the position well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zarna is looking for a sweep. Wynn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Zarna is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Wynn lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Wynn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Wynn throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Zarna works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Wynn distracts Zarna with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Wynn lands a couple of elbows.
Wynn throws a big right hand that misses.
Wynn landing with the ground and pound.
Wynn with a nice head shot there.
Wynn postures up in Zarna's guard and throws a big left but Zarna blocks it.
Zarna really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wynn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Zarna looking for subs off his back but Wynn has passed one foot through into half guard.

Zarna tries to kick Wynn off but Wynn keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Zarna wants to get back to full guard but Wynn has passed into side control.
Wynn scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Zarna to see if he's OK.
Zarna looks to move to half guard but instead Wynn has passed into mount! Damn!
Zarna gets back to half guard.

Wynn takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Zarna wants to improve his position but Wynn is controlling well.
Zarna wants to control but Wynn is keeping busy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wynn drops an elbow to the side of Zarna's head.
Zarna trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Wynn manages to pass to mount!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Zarna closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wynn is pressing down on Zarna's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Zarna wants to pass the guard but Wynn is keeping the position.
Wynn wants to sweep here but Zarna controlling him for the moment.
Zarna wants to pass the guard but Wynn is keeping the position.
Wynn looking to hit a scissor sweep but Zarna is one step ahead there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wynn looking to hit a scissor sweep but Zarna is one step ahead there.
Wynn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Zarna wants to control but Wynn is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Zarna avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wynn.
Zarna tries to roll over but Wynn keeps him under control.

Zarna manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Wynn keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Zarna jumps guard.
Wynn working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Zarna working a defensive guard but Wynn passes into half guard.
Zarna tries to kick Wynn off in order to stand up. Wynn Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Zarna is trying to work for a sweep but Wynn has mounted him!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wynn lands with some strikes.
Wynn is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zarna can do to turn this around?
Zarna tries to buck Wynn off but he can't manage it.
Zarna is breathing heavily.
Zarna wants to control but Wynn is having none of it.

Wynn lands a big elbow.
Zarna is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Wynn has taken his back.
Zarna trying to control the position but Wynn manages to sink in the hooks.
Wynn lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Zarna.
Wynn lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Zarna hold on?!

Wynn lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Wynn controlling from the back.
Zarna tries to roll but Wynn sticks to his back.
Zarna trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Wynn gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Wynn struggling to keep hold of the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wynn is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
Zarna wants to control his opponent's hands but Wynn gets his hands free.
Zarna can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Zarna shoots in and bounces Wynn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Wynn uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Wynn tries to keep at a distance but Zarna has taken the fight into the clinch.

Wynn decides to pull guard.
Zarna won't allow Wynn to sweep him here.
Wynn can't keep his opponent in guard - Zarna advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Wynn tries to get to full guard but Zarna has control of the leg.
Wynn is trying to control but can't.
Edwin Wynn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Wynn is looking for a sweep. Zarna is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Wynn keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Zarna prevents Wynn from improving his position.
Wynn has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Zarna is working away from the top position though.
Wynn makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wynn.
Wynn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Wynn pulls Zarna in to control the position.
Wynn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Wynn prevents Zarna from improving his position.
Wynn working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Still in half guard, Wynn seems content to control.

Zarna takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Zarna is trying to maintain the position but Wynn is very close to passing his half guard.
Wynn lands strikes from half guard.

Wynn looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Zarna tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Wynn has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Zarna keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Wynn pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Zarna wants to hold on but Wynn pushes him away.
Zarna throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

Wynn landing strikes, looking to finish!
Zarna takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Wynn's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
