Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andy Starks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick O Shae (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andy Starks!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick O Shae !
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Shae connects with a solid leg kick.
Starks looks for a takedown but O Shae sprawls well.
Starks lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Starks looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? O Shae is fending him off so far but Starks persists. Nope, O Shae circles away and we're back to standing.
Starks shoots for a takedown but O Shae saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andy Starks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Starks changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. O Shae tries to avoid it but Starks manages to keep hold of a leg and drag O Shae to the ground. O Shae escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Starks counters with a shoot takedown. O Shae fights it but they end up in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Starks drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and O Shae dives on top into guard.

Starks working for submissions but it's allowed O Shae to get to half guard.

Starks is breathing heavily.
Starks tries to get to full guard but O Shae has control of the leg.
O Shae looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

O Shae wants to work for an arm triangle but Starks is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

O Shae is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Starks doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time O Shae .

Starks gets full guard.

Starks has an active guard here but O Shae has managed to pass into half guard.
O Shae tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

O Shae is looking for a kimura but Starks is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for O Shae to get the leverage.
O Shae wants to control but Starks is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

O Shae is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Starks is just riding it out for now. O Shae eventually gives up the hold.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
O Shae lands a nice looking body kick.

and O Shae counters with a nice low kick that buckles Starks's knee momentarily.
O Shae uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Starks.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rick O Shae seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Starks decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in O Shae 's guard.

O Shae escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Starks gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
O Shae tries to land a sweep but no joy.
O Shae has control of Starks's left arm, preventing Starks from doing any damage.

Starks drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but O Shae manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Starks has O Shae in his guard.

O Shae drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and O Shae jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
O Shae pushes down on Starks's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Starks manages to get to full guard.

O Shae feints and then cracks Starks's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Starks down.
