Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tadashi Yoshimatsu (ranked 3938 p4p, 375 weight class) and Jeff Ogus (ranked 3737 p4p, 0 weight class). Tadashi Yoshimatsu has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tadashi Yoshimatsu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jeff Ogus!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoshimatsu shoots in but no luck this time.
Yoshimatsu tries to clinch but Ogus moves out of range.
Ogus looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Yoshimatsu looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ogus is fending him off so far but Yoshimatsu persists. Nope, Ogus circles away and we're back to standing.
Yoshimatsu has a takedown stuffed.
Ogus swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tadashi Yoshimatsu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Horrible takedown attempt by Yoshimatsu or perhaps it was just good defense by Ogus, which made it look bad.
Ogus lands a jab-cross combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yoshimatsu gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Yoshimatsu throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ogus's waist but Ogus gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yoshimatsu off to one side.

Ogus avoids the head kick by Yoshimatsu.
Ogus stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ogus wants it to stay on the feet.

Tadashi Yoshimatsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ogus lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

and Ogus counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Yoshimatsu closes the distance and clinches up with Ogus, looking for a takedown. Yoshimatsu pushes Ogus against the cage but Ogus circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Yoshimatsu tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ogus throws out a counter right but Yoshimatsu avoids it with no problem.
Yoshimatsu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ogus pinned against the cage. Ogus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ogus lands with a nice combination. Yoshimatsu backs away looking to recover.

and Ogus counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Donk. Yoshimatsu catches Ogus right on the button with a cross.
Ogus slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

and Ogus counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Ogus escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice body punch from Ogus.
Yoshimatsu throws a leg kick
and Ogus counters with a nice uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yoshimatsu doesn't manage to clinch there - Ogus circles away.

Yoshimatsu fails with the takedown.
Yoshimatsu goes for a double leg but Ogus avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ogus continues to drive forward.
Ogus is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Yoshimatsu had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Yoshimatsu moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Ogus connects with a crisp jab.
Yoshimatsu fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ogus avoids it really well and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ogus lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Yoshimatsu fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Yoshimatsu shoots in looking for a takedown. Ogus tries to sprawl out of it but Yoshimatsu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ogus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Yoshimatsu tries to clinch but Ogus is having none of it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ogus! But no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ogus might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Jeff Ogus seems to be getting the better of the standup.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Yoshimatsu.

Ogus should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Ogus has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The fighters circle momentarily. Ogus darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Yoshimatsu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ogus sizes up Yoshimatsu with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Yoshimatsu looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Yoshimatsu closes the distance and clinches up with Ogus, looking for a takedown. Yoshimatsu pushes Ogus against the cage but Ogus circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Yoshimatsu is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Ogus to keep the fight standing.

Ogus lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Yoshimatsu's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Ogus digs a right hand underneath Yoshimatsu's ribcage. Yoshimatsu let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Ogus stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Ogus escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ogus connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Ogus takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A left lands for Ogus.
Ogus jabs at Yoshimatsu's body.

Ogus circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ogus throws out a counter right but Yoshimatsu avoids it with no problem.

Yoshimatsu looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Ogus lands a nice shot to the body.
Oh Yoshimatsu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ogus cracks Yoshimatsu with a hook to the temple - Yoshimatsu is on wobbly legs here! Ogus swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Yoshimatsu falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Ogus wins by TKO!
