Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sheamus McShae (ranked 2213 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Neffgen (ranked 2399 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sheamus McShae!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Christian Neffgen!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neffgen is looking to clinch but McShae is avoiding it.
No joy there for McShae, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McShae definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
McShae fails to land with a series of punches.
A head kick misses from Neffgen.
McShae went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Neffgen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McShae appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Neffgen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McShae moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McShae throws a right hand that Neffgen ducks under and follows up with a left that Neffgen also avoids with ease.
McShae dodges the punch combination from Neffgen.
Neffgen has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as McShae is landing a low percentage of strikes.
McShae misses with a double jab.
Neffgen tries a head kick but it misses.
McShae dodges the punch combination from Neffgen.
McShae tries to counter with a takedown but Neffgen is quick to defend against it.

Neffgen has closed the distance and engaged McShae in a clinch.
McShae managing to block the knees to the body from Neffgen.
McShae wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
McShae is trying to break free.
Neffgen fails to pull the fight into his guard.
McShae dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

McShae drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McShae has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Neffgen holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Neffgen is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
McShae is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
McShae tries to break the clinch but Neffgen is controlling the position.
Neffgen keeps control of McShae as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Neffgen jumps into guard, dragging McShae to the mat.
McShae stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Neffgen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Neffgen looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
McShae has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

McShae is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
McShae's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Neffgen is looking to clinch but McShae is avoiding it.
Neffgen goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Neffgen takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Neffgen tries to close the distance and clinch but McShae swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

McShae attempts a counter takedown but Neffgen avoids it well and moves away.

Neffgen is rocked!
McShae wobbles Neffgen with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! McShae dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Neffgen to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!
