Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lance King (ranked 5571 p4p, 221 weight class) and Sirus Hughes (ranked 3616 p4p, 173 weight class). Hughes has chosen Devil "Shinedown" as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lance King! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sirus Hughes! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hughes misses with a head kick.
Hughes looks to land a left hand but King moved out of range nicely. King tries to close the distance and clinch but Hughes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. King takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
King is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hughes's half guard. Hughes kicks off King and gets to his feet. Sirus Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hughes thuds his right hand into King's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. King avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. King tries a head kick but it misses.
It seemed like Hughes was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. King works Hughes's body with a nice hook. Some wild striking there from King.
Hughes goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Hughes throws a lazy right hand but King sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A jab lands there for Hughes. King swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. King tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. King throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. King tries to clinch but Hughes is having none of it. King shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hughes but Hughes pushes him off and we're back to square one. King tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hughes paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hughes tries to clinch but King moves out of range. King is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Hughes looks like he wants to counter punch here. Hughes takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
King takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. The fight moves into the clinch position. Hughes manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Hughes has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. King is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Hughes tries to land knees in the clinch but King avoids the damage to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. King scores with a nice hook to the head. King is trying to pull guard but Hughes turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. King fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lance King. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hughes ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hughes no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hughes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. King doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Hughes is tightening it up a little... King has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! King reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! King taps out! Nice BJJ there by Hughes!
