0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Thomas Kopp! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Bart Greer and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Masiwera looks to land a right hand but Kopp moved out of range. Kopp was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Masiwera thows a leg kick but Kopp checks it and Kopp counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Masiwera! The referee asks Kopp politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kopp prefers to stall for the moment though. Masiwera is trying to buck Kopp off. Kopp scoring with punches from side control. Masiwera tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Masiwera is trying to stand up. Kopp sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kopp is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Masiwera to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Masiwera shrugs it off. Kopp looking to control and managing it successfully.
