Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Coleman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Bob Fury! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coleman lands with a hook. Fury tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Coleman misses with a wild body shot. Coleman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fury manages to avoid it. Coleman sets himself, and Fury steps forward looking for the clinch! Coleman avoids it this time. A looping hook to the body misses from Coleman. Fury does a little dance to reset his feet. A lazy body kick from Fury and Coleman counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Bob Fury has been cut. Fury closes the distance and clinches up with Coleman, looking for a takedown. Fury pushes Coleman against the ropes but Coleman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Coleman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Fury ducks under a wild hook from Coleman. Coleman seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Coleman throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Fury on the side of the head. Coleman takes a swing at Fury's ribcage but misses. Coleman throws a jab when Fury was well out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Coleman lands a nice looking body shot.
Fury fails in his attempt to clinch. Coleman tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Fury manages to circle out of the way. The fighters circling - Coleman throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Fury lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Coleman scores with a hook to the body. Fury has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Coleman regains guard immediately. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Coleman manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Fury tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Coleman just stands there and leans against the ropes. Coleman pushes Fury back against the ropes and unloads with a body punch. Coleman is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Fury is keeping busy. Coleman lands a body punch. Fury's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! A right hook to the body lands for Coleman.
